Enhances Work-Life Balance for Our Employees ! how Interior Design Penang do it ?
Every employer knows the importance of keeping employees healthy and productive. At Interior Design Penang part of SATU Design Group, we see our employees as the key to our success. They are the heart of our organization, making us more than just efficient.
Despite progress in workplace well-being, recent data from the mental health charity Mind shows ongoing issues:
- 58% of employees reported poor mental health at their current job.
- Half of the surveyed employees felt anxious multiple times in the past month.
- 35% of those with mental health issues took time off, but 27% did not share the true reason, reflecting the stigma around mental health.
At Interior Design Penang, part of SATU Design, we aim to lead in normalizing and promoting workplace well-being.
Prioritizing Workplace Well-Being
Interior Design Penang and SATU Design are lively and innovative environments. However, the fast-paced nature of our work can lead to stress and burnout. To address this, we launched well-being and work-life balance courses. These courses were planned at the start of the year so that every team member could join.
We conducted sessions in small groups of 10-12 employees from different departments. These sessions included activities to help employees identify daily stressors and evaluate their emotional well-being using a well-being wheel. This tool assessed mental clarity, community involvement, physical health, learning satisfaction, alignment with personal values, and emotional stability.
Very Liu, our learning and development specialist and course facilitator, highlighted the importance of these sessions: “This was a wonderful chance for people across the organization to connect and share their stress management strategies.”
Building strong internal connections is essential to us. Research shows that a sense of belonging at work is linked to better job performance, lower turnover risk, and fewer sick days. These sessions provided practical coping mechanisms that employees could use in their daily lives.
“Everyone shared valuable tips on staying focused at work and relaxing at home,” Very noted. “These suggestions were practical and relatable, empowering each participant to create personalized action plans for their well-being.”
At Interior Design Penang, we are dedicated to maintaining a balanced work-life harmony because a healthy workplace culture leads to happier and more productive employees.
